Rojena leta 1962 v Ljubljani. Po končani gimnaziji se je leta 1981 vpisala na kiparski oddelek  Akademije za likovno umetnost v Ljubljani ,  kjer je leta 1986 diplomirala pri profesorju Slavku Tihcu. Po diplomi je pet mesecev študijsko - individualno potovala po Zahodni Afriki.  Od leta 1987 deluje kot svobodna umetnica in je član društva slovenskih likovnih umetnikov, član DLUL ter članica skecije za unikatno oblikovanje Društva  oblikovalcev  Slovenije.
Do sedaj je imela 40 samostojnih razstav in sodelovala na več kot 60. skupinskih razstavah in projektih.
V letih med 1995 in 2000 je aktivno sodelovala v neodvisni kiparski skupini Voda&Kipi. V svojem ustvarjalnem opusu se ukvarja z malo plastiko, portretom, ambijentalnimi postavitvami, site specific postavitvami. Ukvarjala  se je tudi z izdelavo gledaliških kostumov in rekvizitov, oblikovanjem naslovnic zgoščenk delovala kot likovni pedagog  na šoli za uporabno umetnost Famul Stuartv Ljubljani,  sedaj pa deluje kot vodja umetniških delavnic za otroke in odrasle.  
V letih med 2003 in 2008 je živela in ustvarjala v Perthu v Zahodni Avstraliji, kjer je leta 2003 nekaj mesecev  kot gostujoča profesorica asistirala na oddelku za kiparstvo na Edith Cowan University,od leta 2008  pa spet živi  in ustvarja v Sloveniji.Občasno tudi restavrira  prazgodovinsko keramiko za  ljubljanski mestni muzej.




Saba Skaberne was born in 1962 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Between 1981 and 1986 she was studying sculpture at Ljubljana Art Academy where she graduated in 1987 in professor Slavko Tihec's class. In the same year she went on an individual, five-month study travel to West Africa.
From 1994 – 2001 she was a member of informal group of Slovenian sculptors, "Water & Sculptures". From early nineties she worked on spatial installations and site-specific projects at home and abroad. At the same time she specialised in miniature sculpture in terracotta and portraiture. As a freelance artist she works in different areas(stop-motion animation,costume designing for theatre...). She was teaching sculpting at School of Applied Arts Famul Stuart in  Ljubljana( from 2008-20012), nowadays she runs different art workshops for children and adults.
Until now she had 40 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. She also took part in more than 60 group exhibitions, colonies and projects. She received four awards for her work. 
She is a member of  Slovenian  Artists' Association(ZDSLU) since 1987 a member of Ljubljana Artist Association(DLUL) and Designers' Association of Slovenia(DOS) . 
Between 2003 and 2008 she was living and working in Perth, Western Australia, where she was assisting teaching sculpture as guest artist for few months at Edith Cowan University in Perth. In 2008 she returned to Slovenia where she now lives and  continues to work as a freelance artist. Occasionally she also restores ancient and prehistoric ceramic for Ljubljana Municipal Museum.
